Bubble Planet Phoenix: A Colorful Family Experience in Tempe

The Bubble Bath Pit is one of the most playful and hands-on rooms at Bubble Planet.

The first thing you notice inside Bubble Planet Phoenix is the color. Purple light spills across a sea of glowing balls, mirrored rooms stretch farther than they should, and kids are invited to do what most exhibits ask them not to do: jump in and touch everything.

Located inside Arizona Mills in Tempe, Bubble Planet is a playful indoor experience built around bubbles, balloons, light, and optical illusions. It is especially fun for families, but there is enough visual interest and hands-on activity to keep teenagers and adults involved too.

It also offers something every Arizona itinerary eventually needs: an air-conditioned break from the sun that still feels like part of the vacation.

Step Inside Bubble Planet

Bubble Planet unfolds across 10 themed environments, with each room offering something different to see or do. The experience feels less like a traditional museum and more like a colorful walk-through playground.

The Bubble Bath Pit is an immediate favorite. Guests climb into an oversized ball pit and suddenly look as though they have been dropped into a giant glowing bubble bath. On our visit, this was the room that brought out the biggest grin: arms stretched wide, surrounded by glowing purple balls.

From there, the experience continues through rooms filled with balloons, digital art, lights, and reflections. In Bubble Ocean, visitors move through a sea of floating balloons. The Infinity Room uses mirrors and light to make the space seem endless, while Sketch and Post lets guests create a drawing and watch it appear digitally.

There is also a Giant Bubble, an underwater-inspired LED room, oversized bubble displays, and plenty of unusual backdrops for family photos. A virtual reality trip into the “Bubbleverse” is currently included with VIP admission.

Why It Works for Families

Bubble Planet gives different ages different ways to enjoy the same experience. Younger children tend to head straight for the balloons and ball pit. Older kids may be more interested in the illusions, digital displays, and VR. Adults can enjoy the design, take photos, or join in instead of watching from the side.

The attraction takes about an hour, which is part of its appeal. It feels substantial without taking over the entire day, and families can move through the rooms at their own pace. Guests who want more time for photos or interactive areas are welcome to stay longer.

Because the entire experience is indoors and air-conditioned, it is also a great option during the hottest part of the day or when the weather changes your outdoor plans.

Planning Your Visit

Bubble Planet uses timed-entry tickets, and its schedule and prices vary by date. Check the official ticket calendar before finalizing your plans. Same-day admission may be available, but booking ahead is a good idea for weekends and school breaks.

A few simple tips will make the visit easier:

  • Bring socks. They are required for the Bubble Bath Pit.
  • Allow about 60 minutes for the experience.
  • Children age 2 and younger enter free.
  • Guests younger than 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Strollers must be parked in a designated area near the entrance.
  • Personal photos and videos are welcome, but professional equipment and tripods are not allowed.
  • Some rooms have mirrored floors, so choose clothing with that in mind.

The venue is wheelchair accessible, although some interactive areas may be more difficult to navigate. The experience also includes strobe lighting and latex elements in some rooms. Guests with light sensitivity, latex allergies, or specific accessibility needs should contact the attraction or speak with staff before entering.
